    Responsibilities

    ACDI/VOCA is currently looking for Coffee Value Chain Experts for an upcoming EU funded activity in Ethiopia. This activity will target the coffee value chain to improve coffee quality assessment skills, bolster market information, build local capacity, increase farmer access to high quality inputs and technologies to improve yields and quality, improve extension services, and promote public-private partnerships. Additional interventions will support Geographic Indications (GI) and agri-businesses development.

    For long and short-term consulting opportunities, ACDI/VOCA is promptly seeking experts with the experience in the following management and technical areas:

     

    • Coffee production: Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and technologies
    • Coffee Quality Assessment and Cupping
    • Public-Private Partnerships to promote coffee industry
    • Access to Input suppliers
    • Market assessment and linkages to specialty and conventional coffee buyers
    • Agri-business development
    • Capacity building of producer organizations
    • Extension services specific to coffee crops
    • GIS Mapping and Geographic Indicators

    Qualifications

    While each position will have its own operational and technical scope under the project, overall qualifications will meet the below:

     

    • Degree in agriculture, economics, public policy, law, international development, or related field
    • Substantial experience in related technical area
    • Experience with EU funded projects preferred
    • Proven ability to facilitate high-value partnerships with communities, private and public-sector stakeholders
    • Experience in Ethiopia required
    • Fluency in English required
    • Ethiopian nationals are highly encouraged to apply
