    The Feed the Future Rice and Diversified Crops (RDC) activity is a USAID-funded project designed to catalyze market system changes that promote a diversified farm management approach oriented to intensified rice production and higher-value, nutrient-rich crops as well as increase incomes and improve food security and nutrition in the Khulna, Barisal, and southern Dhaka divisions of Bangladesh. As agricultural systems in Bangladesh progress and become more commercially based, training providers could develop into private extension services that provide farmers with advisory services for a fee.


    ACDI/VOCA seeks a dynamic, progressive and experienced trainer with an expertise in value chain development and building capacity of agri-business companies in design and delivery of training programs for female and male farmers. This short-term consulting assignment is anticipated to be fulfilled within 30 days.


    • Attend agri-business supported farmer training programs to determine the training needs of trainers.
    • Meet development partners to review the training material and methods they use to identify potential innovative methods that could be used by RDC partner companies.
    • Provide a 5 day training program for training companies on teaching methods for training adult, low literacy skilled female and male farmers on agricultural production technology.
    • Provide training on developing training plans and preparing training guides and materials for training adult female and male farmers.
    • Support the training company(s) in training and assessing training staff of agribusiness companies using the skills learnt.
    • Support agri-business companies in preparation of training plans, training manuals and guides and training materials for the farmer training programs.
    • Develop a training guide on how to train adult female and male farmers in Bangladesh and present the examples of training guides and manuals for training adult female and male farmers in agricultural production.
    • Prepare a report with recommendations for the further development of a private sector led farmer advisory service in Bangladesh.


    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agricultural economics, education, marketing, or related area required; advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing countries with the strong focus on capacity building, training design and delivery.
    • Proven experience in training the trainers to identify the needs, plan training programs and prepare training materials is essential.
    • Expertise on developing agricultural training content for low literacy adults is highly desired.
    • Superb communication and facilitation skills.
    • Fluency in English required.
